ICRS Heritage Summit

The word heritage refers to important historical events that have a special meaning in a society such as the ICRS. In 1997, the ICRS was formed in Fribourg, Switzerland. 10 years earlier in October 1987, the first autologous chondrocyte implantation was performed in Gothenburg, Sweden. Those events are important milestones for all of us devoted to the mysteries of cartilaginous tissues and their development, degeneration and repair. We within the ICRS have subsequently wanted to celebrate those birthdays with a unique heritage meeting to be held on June 29th-July the 1st 2017 at the Gothia Towers, Gothenburg, Sweden. It is a meeting which will focus on the past, present and the future of cartilage science; what have we learned and what we can do for the next 30 years? ” We will also discuss the future of our society and how we can impact the future of our field.
