ICRS Grants, Fellowships & Scholarships 2019

The ICRS and its partners have joined forces by offering several Fellowship & Scholarship Programmes to the ICRS membership. Applications are open only to active ICRS Members (below age 40) who are in good standing. The programme represents a serious commitment from ICRS and its partners to support highly motivated trainees and residents with basic science knowledge and clinical research skills. Together we build a strong network and push for innovation. We believe that research is the engine of development and that linking and educating passionate young professionals is the way to advance the field of orthoregeneration significantly. Applications should be submitted before deadline of each programme. Applications received after deadline, will not be considered.


ICRS/Vericel – Lars Peterson Clinical Travelling Fellowship 2019

Objectives: The objectives of the programme are to provide an opportunity for young orthopaedic surgeons, residents, fellows or clinical scientists of international exchange in a stimulating environment and to gain exposure to basic science and clinical applications in studies involving articular cartilage injury, repair, and regeneration. Selected as potential leaders in the field of cartilage regeneration and joint preservation, fellows will participate in scientific symposia with host physicians, view search facilities and surgical procedures and participate in social and cultural events with the hosting cartilage repair community. The Fellowship Programme includes attending the ICRS 2019 World Congress Vancouver.

Eligibility:

Candidates are ICRS Members in good standing
Orthopaedic Surgery, Senior- or Chief Residents, Fellows or young clinical Scientists below age of 40 and with dedicated interest in Cartilage Regeneration and Joint Preservation
Candidates must not have been benefited previously from the same programme
Candidates must speak English fluently (entire programme hold in English)

Vacancies: 3 successful candidates will be awarded
Tour Dates: September 25 – October 08 (tentative)
Application Deadline: June 15, 2019 (applications after the deadline will not be considered)

-Brief CV (not more than 2 pages), incl. information on date of birth, current and past affiliation, degrees, awards, and research interests
-List of publications of last 3 years with titles and journal references

ICRS/ON Basic Science Travelling Fellowship, Education Grants & Award 2019

The ICRS and ON Foundation join forces for regeneration again. We are offering a Fellowship Programme and 10 Education Grants. Applications are open to young active ICRS Members in good standing. The programme represents a serious commitment from ICRS & ON to support highly motivated trainees and residents with basic knowledge in science and clinical research skills. Together we build a strong network and drive innovation. We believe research is the engine of development.  Linking and educating passionate young professionals is the key to significantly advance the field of orthoregeneration.

1. ON-ICRS Research Fellowship 2019 (Basic Science) – Vancouver, Canada (3-4 Vacancies) Applications closed
The objectives of the programme are to provide young postdoctoral scientists with an opportunity for international exchange in a stimulating environment and to gain exposure to high quality basic research in laboratories that are world famous for their work in orthopaedic tissue regeneration. Selected as potential leaders in the field of cartilage regeneration and repair, fellows will be accompanied on a 2 week tour to several laboratories (e.g, Harvard, MIT, HSS, Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute), led by Dr. Susan Chubinskaya a distinguished and experienced scientist who will act as a mentor throughout the trip. The Fellowship Programme includes attending the ICRS World Congress from Oct 05-08. Successful Fellows will be selected in an open competition by an expert panel established through ON Foundation Board and the ICRS fellowships, scholarships and research grants committee. 2. ON Education Grants 2019 – Vancouver, Canada (10 Vacancies) Applications open
Objectives:  ICRS & ON provides support to 10 ICRS-members (residents, student fellows and young investigators) towards their individual travel expenses up to a maximum of Euros 500.00 for attending the ICRS World Congress 2019. Young ICRS Members from emerging, developing and newly industrializing countries and interested in all fields of cartilage regeneration and orthoregeneration are encouraged to apply. However, successful Candidates will need to register & pay normally for the congress. Application Deadline: August 27, 2019.
