Dr. Laver is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, complex knee disorders and knee preservation as well as hip preservation. He is currently a senior consultant at the sports medicine unit at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center (HYMC), hadera, Israel and leads the Hip Preservation and Sports Hip service at HYMC. He is also the founder and owner of the ArthroSport clinic, Tel-Aviv,
Israel.

He has a special interest in joint preservation and Orthobiologic solutions. He is currently the co-chair of the Orthobiologic Initiative in ESSKA (ORBIT). His main focus areas include meniscal transplants (allograft, artificial), cartilage restoration and regeneration procedures, osteotomies and hip preservation.

Dr. Laver has worked in the UK for several years after completing a complex knee fellowship with a special focus on meniscal transplants in Coventry (UHCW). Prior to his time in the UK, Dr Laver undertook a 6 months fellowship in Sports Medicine in Barcelona, Spain, under Prof. Ramon Cugat and a 1 year sports medicine fellowship at Duke University, North Carolina, USA, under William (Bill)
Garrett.

Dr Laver has extensive experience as a team physician and in the management of elite athletes in general and in football and basketball l in particular. He was a team physician in several professional teams in Israel in football (Maccabi Tel-Aviv), basketball (Bnei-Herzelia), and the volleyball and handball national teams. Apart from his fellowships experience in top sports environments such as FC Barcelona and Duke University, Dr. Laver has spent significant periods in top sports clubs and organizations such as premier league clubs as well as NBA, NHL and NFL teams and he has published several sports-specific sports medicine books (Basketball, Handball). He is currently the head physician at the Israeli Football Association (IFA).

Dr. Laver is a former professional level athlete (Handball), playing for the Israeli national team for 13 years and top Israeli clubs as well as abroad. He is currently a special consultant to the European Handball Federation (EHF).
