Jeanine Hendriks has a strong background in cell and developmental biology research having worked at the University of Wageningen and the Dutch Institute for Developmental biology from 1992-1999. She joined IsoTis SA thereafter, where as a group leader she was responsible for cartilage product development and the launch of a first generation ACI product. It was her insight that led to the discovery of how to combine chondrocytes with multipotent cells to form strong cartilage material under controlled conditions, which resulted in the founding of CellCoTec in 2004. She is well published, having written or co-authored several publications, articles and patents in the field of cartilage repair and regeneration. Dr Hendriks’ PhD is from the University of Twente, Regenerative medicine. She currently is the CTO and a member of the board of CellCoTec and her main achievement is to have brought INSTRUCT from a scientific finding to the Market. INSTRUCT is the main product of CellCoTec and is an autologous single surgery cartilage repair technology combining primary chondrocytes with bone marrow cells and an 3D deposited scaffold providing mechanical support to the defect.
