Cast Your Vote for ICRS Secretary General 2015/2016 Election until Feb. 27. 2015
Under our Bylaws, the current Vice President is the President-elect and will automatically become the new President; the current President will remain on the Executive Board for one Term of Office as immediate Past President. The current Secretary General and Treasurer must stand for election if they wish to serve a second Term in their current position or seek election to one of the other vacant roles. Following the bylaws change approved by a majority of our membership on November 3, 2014, effective immediately. For the first year of this change only (2015), as there is no current 2nd Vice President, the position of First Vice president will be elected from members of the current executive committee, as has been the existing precedent. Moreover, current General Board members as well as those who served on the General Board in last two Terms of Office are eligible to stand election for an Executive Officer position. Therefore, we recently invited all eighteen eligible candidates to consider nominating themselves for the open Executive Board positions.
The results of the nomination process were as follows:
There was only one candidate for the position of First Vice President/President-elect and Second Vice President. Under the Bylaws, where there is only one nomination that person is elected for the position by acclamation, without a ballot being held. Ken Zaslav from USA and Alberto Gobbi from Italy have been elected to the position of First Vice President/President-elect and Second Vice President respectively.
There was only one candidate for the position of Treasurer. Under the Bylaws, where there is only one nomination that person is elected for the position by acclamation, without a ballot being held. Tom Minas from USA has been elected for the position of Treasurer.
There were three candidates for the position of Secretary General. Therefore, an electronic ballot will be held for all members to choose among Elizaveta Kon from Italy, Stefan Marlovits and Stefan Nehrer from Austria.
Please follow the link below to a short biographical statement from the three candidates and to the electronic ballot, which is now open to receive your vote. The deadline to cast your vote is at noon Central European Time on Friday Feb 27, 2015. No vote will be considered after this deadline.
