7th ICRS Surgical Skills Course / Wet-Lab

Welcome to Doha, Qatar

Dear Friends & Colleagues

At the end of the year 2022, Doha will be the center of the football world with the FIFA World Cup 2022 held in Qatar! At the beginning of 2023, from January 26 to 28, Doha will also take world center stage of the cartilage restoration & joint preservation community with the organization of the 7th ICRS Surgical Skills Course & Wet Lab, taking place at the Aspetar Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Hospital, a FIFA accredited medical centre of excellence.

This will be the first ICRS event in the Arab World, bringing together international acknowledged experts to highlight the most recent development in surgical techniques with regards to cartilage regeneration and joint preservation. A top international faculty with exceptional technical skills and long-term experience in the field of joint preservation will present, together with the local surgery team, the full portfolio of pathology and treatment strategies. Special focus will be on knee and ankle injuries with special attention in sports pathology. A remarkable academic agenda will include scientific lectures and 4 extensive hands-on workshops on human cadaver specimens, (Wet-Lab is limited to 40 participants).Wet-lab Tickets are now sold out. Lectures-only tickets are still available.

The Aspetar Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Hospital, Doha is one of the leading institutions worldwide in the spectrum of sports injuries applying a multidisciplinary approach in diagnosis and treatment. In the latest years hospital management strategically planed higher exposure and involvement in cartilage restoration and joint preservation. Part of this strategy is the conjoined event that we are introducing for January 2023.

Both faculty and participants will have the opportunity to network, exchange ideas in a high-profile hospital and sports facilities environment and at the same time, they will experience the unique Middle East culture & hospitality! We are convinced that the ICRS team and the local organizing committee will make this a unique event for the attendees, and when everybody travels back home will feel enriched in knowledge after spending three days of high-level science, practical surgical skills, leisure, and social life!!!

Emmanuel T. Papacostas, Course Chair
on behalf of the Local Organizing Committee
