Professor James Hui is the Head of Department of Orthopaedic Surgery for National University Hospital, and holds a joint appointment as Professor in Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He has more than 30 years of clinical experience in Orthopaedic Surgery, and has published extensively in high-impact journals. Professor Hui is one of the leading researchers and clinician in the field of paediatric orthopaedics and has set up a research programme on the use of stem cells for cartilage repair, where he has secured a cumulative grant funding of more than $15 million. He has received prestigious awards, served on the editorial board for multiple world-renowned journals and has held notable regional and international appointments as the President of Singapore Orthopaedic Association and the President of Asian Cartilage Repair Society.

He continues to share his passion and knowledge for Paediatric Orthopaedics and cartilage repair through numerous presentations as keynote speakers and invited faculty at prestigious international conferences worldwide as well as visiting professors at esteemed international universities. Through new scientific strategies and clinical applications, Professor Hui hopes to improve patient care, treatment, and quality of life of many patients suffering from knee-related injuries.
