Dr. Tiago Lazzaretti Fernandes is Collaborative Professor, Advisor of Musculoskeletal Science Program and orthopedic surgeon at the Sports Medicine Division, Orthopaedics and Traumatology Institute, University of São Paulo Medical School. He co-coordinates the Regenerative Tissue Engineering Core at Sírio- Libanês Hospital for cartilage and osteoarthiritis treatment and seeks to develop
these new technologies for clinical practice. Dr. Lazzaretti has finished his post-doctorate program with a research fellowship from Harvard Medical School and did his doctorate with a fellowship from Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He is a site director of Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health – ECPE – Principles and Practice of Clinical Research Program (PPCR). International Society of Knee Surgery and Sports Medicine (ISAKOS) Osteoarthritis Award – 2017. ISAKOS Young Investigator Mentoring Program Award – 2016. Member of ISAKOS Scientific Committee (2019-2023) and ICRS Next Generation Committee (2022- 2023). Director of the program Scholars in Medical Innovation since 2020.
