Robert Sah is Professor of the Department of Bioengineering and co-director of the Center for Musculoskeletal Research at UC San Diego. He received the B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering and the Sc.D. in Medical Engineering from M.I.T., and the M.D. from Harvard. After post-doctoral research at Massachusetts General Hospital, he joined UC San Diego Bioengineering in 1992. Dr. Sah’s research interests are the biomechanics, mechanobiology, and tissue engineering of cartilage, synovial fluid, and synovial joints with the ultimate goal of improving the treatment, diagnosis, and prevention of diseases of skeletal growth, injury, and degeneration, including osteoarthritis.
