Sabine Schaumann holds a doctorate in medical engineering and has been working for Arthrex Inc., Naples, Florida as Senior Product Manager EMEA in the Orthobiologics division since 2015, focusing on cartilage therapy and orthobiological treatment approaches in both the conservative and surgical fields.
After studying medical engineering with a focus on biotechnology at Ulm University of Applied Sciences with a thesis in the field of cell biomechanics at the Institute of Orthopaedic Research and Biomechanics at Ulm University, she received her doctorate at the Technical University of Munich at the Chair of Medical Engineering. Her research focused on the development and validation of a novel system for the extraction of autologous growth factors from whole blood and a suitable application device.
After two years in the field of electrophysiology as part of her work at Biosense Webster Inc., Irvine, USA, she joined the product management at Arthrex in Munich. Arthrex is a privately held global medical device company focused on innovative solutions in the field of arthroscopy and minimally invasive orthopedics. Product range comprises electronic equipment for arthroscopy, reconstruction instruments and implants for sports medicine and traumatology, joint prosthetics, and orthobiologic products which is the focus area of Sabine Schaumann.
