Dr. Taraballi earned her B.S. in Cellular Biology, and her two masters respectively in Molecular Biology and Structural Biochemistry at University of Milan. In 2009 she earn her doctorate in Nanostructures and Nanotechnologies from a joint program of the Materials Science Department of University of Milan – Bicocca with the Lawrence National Berkeley Laboratory (LBNL). Since then, her research mainly focused on developing tissue engineering platforms for musculoskeletal regeneration. After a post-doc in Singapore she arrived at Houston Methodist Research Institute. She is currently an Instructor and she leads the Biomaterials Core of the Center for Biomimetic Medicine. This core will support translational projects developed in collaborations with clinical counterparts within the different departments, and external collaborators, and, with the support of HMRI’s GMP facility. She’s actively working for the Department of Defense to develop new strategies for musculoskeletal traumatic injuries repair.
