Dr. Dean Wang is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in sports-related injuries of the knee, shoulder, hip, and elbow. His clinical expertise includes advanced minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures and reconstructive joint surgery. He is the Chief of the Sports Medicine Division at UCI and the Head Team Orthopaedic Physician for UCI Athletics. He holds a dual appointment in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Department of Biomedical Engineering.

Dr. Wang is a clinician-scientist and has authored more than 100 scientific manuscripts and textbook chapters. His specific research interests include novel procedures for cartilage repair in the knee and hip, biologic therapies for cartilage/tendon/ligament repair, and knee ligament reconstruction and joint biomechanics.
