Dr. Sharmila is one of the rare breed of female Orthopaedic surgeons worldwide and amongst the very few practicing in GCC and UAE. Practicing since the last 25 years, she has a vast experience in orthopedics ,arthroscopic surgeries and the latest stem cell and regenerative treatments in orthopedic conditions.
Internationally renowned, an acclaimed and successful orthopaedician in UAE, she is U.S. Board Certified and Diplomat in Regenerative Medicine.
She trained in India at GMC, Nagpur University – one of the largest and most reputed medical colleges & teaching hospitals in Asia. She was an academically brilliant student and was known for her hard work and intelligence throughout her years there.
After completing her post-graduation (M.S. Ortho), from Nagpur University, Dr.Sharmila worked in Mumbai, under the tutelage of Orthopaedic icons in the field.
During her long career, Dr.Sharmila has worked in teaching hospitals within India as lecturer ,assistant professor , head of department as well as a trauma surgeon in tertiary Trauma Care Centre.
She underwent training in Arthroscopic surgery in France amongst her advanced training and has been working in Dubai for the last 16 years across reputed hospitals, as an Orthopaedic and Arthoscopic Surgeon treating thousands of patients successfully.
Her interest in orthobiologics and regenerative medicine was a natural progression from her field of specialization of minimally invasive surgeries, to treat patients in most simplistic and effective way.
Dr. Sharmila has authored numerous international research papers in the field of regenerative medicine and also written chapters in Textbook of Orthobiologics.
She is extremely passionate about further developing the revolutionary field of regenerative medicine and orthobiologics by treating patients and training the doctors.
