Gwenllian Tawy

University of Manchester Division of Cell Matrix Biology & Regenerative Medicine Manchester, United Kingdom

Gwen Tawy graduated from the University of Strathclyde in 2018 with a PhD in Biomedical Engineering. Since 2018, Gwen has been undertaking orthopaedic research at the University of Manchester. In 2022, Gwen was awarded the ON/ICRS Orthoregeneration Research Fellowship for her biomechanical research in orthopaedics.

Gwen is currently a Research Fellow and Lecturer at the University of Manchester. Her research focuses on the biomechanical and clinical assessment of the knee following trauma and in arthritis. She is also interested in the ways in which treatments for chondral/osteochondral injury and osteoarthritis affect the knee joint’s biomechanics and general mobility. Her current research is investigating the biomechanical outcomes of autologous chondrocyte implantation.
