In Memoriam: Christian Bezenar, MBA † (1974-2023)

It is with profound sadness that we learned of the passing of our ICRS Corporate Member Christian Bezenar (1974-2023), President & Executive Director at JRF Ortho. Christian was a truly remarkable individual who was passionate about joint preservation. Any new invention or breakthrough in cartilage science, even though a small one, has brought excitement on Christian’s face.

In his role as CEO of JRF Ortho, he has been one of the greatest supporter as an ICRS Diamond Partner for many years. Indeed he made many friends and created many opportunities during his journey with our association. Christian has been in the tissue banking industry for over 15 years and possessed a B.A. and M.A. in Political Science and German from California Lutheran University and Bowling Green State University, respectively. He recently finished his Executive M.B.A. program from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver.

We were very lucky to have worked together with Christian during many years and will truly miss him greatly. He had an extremely pleasant personality that was contagious to everyone he would meet. Our thoughts are with his family, colleagues and friends and we wish them strength. There are many inspiring stories about him, that will help his family to get smile back.

To honour his legacy, we encourage our members, colleagues and friends donating to the Christian Bezenar International Cartilage Memorial Fund (https://bit.ly/4657lnH).

Daniel Grande, ICRS President 2023-2025

on behalf of the International Cartilage Regeneration & Joint Preservation Society
