Evan Farina

As an Orthopaedic Sports Surgeon at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, I provide comprehensive care for patients with sports-related injuries and conditions; including ACL reconstruction, meniscus injuries, complex knee injuries, cartilage restoration, rotator cuff repair, and shoulder instability. I have cared for most every professional, collegiate, and elite team in Boston – with experience providing sideline and training room care for professional athletes across all sports and activities (including the New England Patriots, Boston Bruins, Boston Red Sox, New England Revolution, Boston College Athletics, Harvard University Athletics, and the Boston Ballet). I completed my surgical training at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, with residency and fellowship training in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery. In 2023, I was an International Cartilage Restoration & Joint Preservation Society (ICRS) Clinical Travelling Fellow – visiting and collaborating with academic hospitals of expertise and tissue banks across the United States. I hold an MD degree from the University of Chicago – Pritzker School of Medicine and a BS degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, both with honors. My skills include arthroscopic surgery, joint preservation surgery, cartilage restoration, and orthobiologic therapies. I am passionate about advancing the field of Sports Medicine through research, education, and innovation – having published numerous basic science, clinical, and translational research studies. I am the Founder and CEO of a surgical solutions company, Indaco Surgical, Inc., which integrates emerging technologies including computer vision, anatomic navigation, deep machine learning, stereotactic-guidance/robotic-assistance, and augmented reality to advance the accuracy, precision, reproducibility, and safety profile of numerous surgical procedures through novel techniques. Fundamentally, I am dedicated to helping my patients achieve optimal function and get back to the activities that bring vigor to their lives through evidence-based and highly personalized care.
