Director of the Instituto Cugat, Barcelona. President of the Board of Trustees for the Garcia Cugat Foundation for Biomedical Research, President of the medical council of the Catalonian Soccer Federation and member of medical staff of the Spanish Soccer Federation. Director of the Garcia Cugat Foundation Chair at the CEU-Cardenal Herrera University on Regenerative Medicine and Surgery. Active member of ICRS since its establishment in 1997 and of other institutions and associations. He was co-founder of the Spanish Arthroscopy Association (AEA) in 1982.
His continuous desire for improvement led him to focus on new treatment perspectives based on biology such as Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP). He has been applying PRP since 2000 and he has always stood up for biological therapies. It is remarkable that not only did he apply PRP but he also carried out research through the Garcia Cugat Foundation so as to continue improving. Moreover, he developed innovative cartilage healing techniques for osteochondral injuries.
He is not only internationally but also nationally renowned by several media such as distinguished magazines.
One of his latest achievements was the award from the Order of Civil Merit, handed by King Felipe VI in June of 2019.
