Stefan Marlovits
Stefan Marlovits is an orthopedic surgeon from Vienna, Austria, internationally recognized for his contributions to cartilage repair, regenerative orthopedics, and joint preservation. He currently serves as Head of the Cartilage Repair Center Vienna at the Privatklinik Döbling and Senior Consultant at the Medical University of Vienna. He previously held the position of Treasurer of the International Cartilage Regeneration & Joint Preservation Society (ICRS) and has been an active contributor to society activities and education for many years.
Prof. Marlovits is the primary author of the MOCART Score, a globally recognized MRI-based system to evaluate cartilage repair tissue. His clinical and scientific work has significantly advanced ACI, MACT, orthobiological therapies, and joint-preserving surgical techniques. With more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and regular international lectureships, he is a leading voice in regenerative orthopedics.
His long-standing involvement in ICRS educational activities, combined with his Executive Board experience and strong commitment to fostering emerging leaders, positions him well to serve the Nomination Committee with integrity, transparency, and a forward-looking vision.
