The Cartilage & Joint Preservation Foundation, Inc.

The “Cartilage & Joint Preservation Foundation, Inc.” was established in November 2020 to support the advancement of information and techniques to improve the science and knowledge for surgeons treating patients with early arthritis and damage to the articular surface in joints. Contributors to the Foundation support new directions in education, research and transmission of information about cartilage repair and joint preservation. The foundation is receiving donations from members and organisations.

ICRS Global Access Fellowship

This initiative by ICRS and the Cartilage & Joint Preservation Foundation, Inc. provides an opportunity for young orthopaedic surgeons, residents, fellows or scientists from South AmericaAfrica and Asia who are interested in cartilage regeneration and joint preservation. These regions are currently underrepresented in the ICRS membership. The ICRS Global Access Fellowship offers fully hosted participation for ICRS educational events.

As part of the ICRS Global Access Fellowship, a fellow will be sent to the upcoming 8th Surgical Skills Course & Wet Lab in Doha/Qatar from February 6-9, 2025. This call is now closed.

The next ICRS Global Access Fellowship will be awarded for the 6th ICRS Lab Skills Course in Utrecht, Netherlands, April 14-16, 2025. This call is now closed.

Applications & Grants

Grants will be available from the Foundation at specific time periods to be announced.

Applications will be encouraged for:

  • Research into translational work
  • Establishing best practice guidelines for cartilage repair strategies and techniques
  • Facilitating public awareness of joint health issues and treatments

Grants may include:

  • Travelling Fellowship
  • Bursary to attend ICRS congress and meetings
  • Development of patient education material
  • Support for surgeon education and training
